Itza Wood

Itza Wood makes outdoor furniture in teak and solid hardwood — materials that weather naturally, develop patina over seasons of outdoor use, and require less maintenance than most outdoor furniture finishes. At Lulu and Georgia, the Itza Wood collection brings together teak outdoor side tables, accent tables, and seating pieces in the clean-lined natural aesthetic that teak furniture is known for — outdoor furniture that improves with age rather than declining with exposure.

What Itza Wood furniture does Lulu and Georgia carry?

The Itza Wood collection includes teak and solid hardwood outdoor side tables in round and rectangular forms, outdoor accent tables with stone and concrete tops in teak or powder-coated metal bases, outdoor seating in teak and woven configurations, and stacking outdoor tables suited for poolside and terrace use. Most pieces are suited for year-round outdoor installation in most climates; product pages note specific weathering requirements.

Does teak outdoor furniture need to be sealed or oiled?

Teak is naturally high in oil content and does not require sealing or oiling to resist weathering — left untreated, it weathers to a soft silver-gray that many people prefer to the new honey color. If you prefer to maintain the original honey-brown tone, apply a teak oil or sealer annually before the outdoor season. A one-time cleaning with a teak cleaner and brightener will restore weathered teak to near-original color. Avoid painting or staining teak — the natural oil content prevents most finishes from adhering properly over time.

How do I care for Itza Wood outdoor furniture through winter?

Teak outdoor furniture can be left outdoors through winter in most climates without damage to the wood. Remove cushions and store indoors or in a deck box — cushions are the element most vulnerable to winter moisture and freeze-thaw cycles. In climates with hard freezes or significant snow load, storing furniture under a breathable cover (not plastic, which traps moisture) is recommended to minimize weathering and preserve the original finish longer.
